Who qualifies

Eligible customers

Clean Energy Columbus is available to residential and small commercial customers who:

  • Receive electricity service through AEP Ohio
  • Have a Columbus service address within the program's service territory
  • Are not already enrolled with another competitive retail electric supplier
  • Have not previously opted out of the program during the current contract period

Large commercial and industrial customers with special contracts may not be eligible. If you're unsure, the quickest way to check is through AEP Energy's enrollment portal or by calling the program line.

Already enrolled?

If you've received a Clean Energy Columbus welcome letter, you're already participating. Check your AEP Ohio bill — if the supplier shows AEP Energy at the CEC rate, your electricity is already 100% clean. No action needed.
